In short
- We collect your account and order details, what you put on your invitation, and your guests’ RSVPs and wishes.
- Orders are placed on WhatsApp; no card or bank details are collected on this website.
- We share data only with the services that run InviteNama (database, media storage, hosting, email, Google sign-in and analytics).
- Invitations are reachable by anyone with the link, stay out of search engines and are active for one year.
- You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data at any time.
This summary is for convenience — the full text below is what applies.
1.Who we are
InviteNama (“InviteNama”, “we”, “us”) designs digital invitations for hosts in India through the website www.invitenama.com. You choose a theme, preview it live and order it on WhatsApp; our team sets up the invitation, shares a private review link with you and, once you approve it, you share the public link with your guests.
This policy explains what personal data we handle across the website, your account, your orders, your invitations and the guest RSVPs and wishes they collect. For the personal data you give us, we act as the “Data Fiduciary” under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”), and we follow the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it.
2.Information we collect
Account details
- Your name, email address, optional phone number and a password (stored only as a secure hash).
- If you sign in with Google: the name, email address, email-verified status and profile picture that Google shares with us.
- If you turn on two-step verification: one-time codes and a record of devices you trust.
Orders and theme requests
- The theme you order, the price and any coupon shown, your name, and the page you ordered from. Your order is then sent to us as a WhatsApp message from your own WhatsApp account.
- For custom theme requests: your name, email or phone number, the occasion and the requirements you describe.
- Messages you exchange with our team on WhatsApp or email about your order.
Invitation content
- What you ask us to put on your invitation: names (for example of the couple, host or family members), event dates, times, venues and map locations, photos, music choice, messages and other details.
Guest responses
- When a guest RSVPs or leaves a wish: their name, whether they will attend, the number of guests and their message.
Usage and device information
- Pages visited and actions taken on the website, collected with Google Analytics (see our Cookie Policy).
- A random visitor ID stored in your browser, used only to count how many people are on the site right now.
- Your approximate city and country, which our hosting provider derives from your IP address, plus standard technical data such as IP address, browser type and error logs, used for security and to keep the service running.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, sensitive information that is not needed for your invitation (for example government ID numbers or bank passwords).
3.How we use your information
- To respond to your order or request, confirm the price and arrange payment with you.
- To design, set up, host and update your invitation, and to share the review and public links.
- To show you guest RSVPs and wishes in your dashboard.
- To send service emails, such as email verification codes, password resets and important account notices.
- To keep accounts secure, prevent misuse and fix problems.
- To understand which themes and pages are useful, so we can improve the website.
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
4.Live activity on the website
The website may show short, anonymised notices such as “Priya from Pune just created an invitation” and a count of visitors online. These notices use only a first name, an approximate city, the occasion and the theme name — never your surname, contact details or invitation link.
If you would rather not appear in these notices, write to us at support@invitenama.app and we will remove your entries.
5.Why we are allowed to use it
We process personal data on the grounds recognised by the DPDP Act, in particular:
- Your consent — given when you create an account, place an order, send us invitation content, or submit an RSVP. You can withdraw consent at any time (see Your rights); this does not affect processing already done.
- Legitimate uses permitted by law — for example where you have voluntarily shared information with us for a specific purpose, or where we must comply with a law or a court order.
6.Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run InviteNama, under contracts that limit their use of it, and only as much as they need:
- MongoDB Atlas — database hosting for accounts, orders, invitations and RSVPs.
- Cloudinary — storage and delivery of the photos and media on invitations.
- Vercel and our cloud hosting providers — hosting of the website and its servers.
- Resend — delivery of service emails such as verification codes and password resets.
- Google — Google Sign-In (if you choose it) and Google Analytics.
- WhatsApp (Meta) — when you order or chat with us on WhatsApp, your messages are handled under WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy.
We do not collect card or bank details on this website. Payment is arranged with you after the WhatsApp conversation, and the bank, UPI app or payment service you use processes it under its own terms.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public, or as part of a business transfer (in which case this policy continues to apply).
7.Where your data is stored
Some of our service providers store or process data on servers outside India. Where this happens, we rely on providers with recognised security practices and transfer data only to countries not restricted by the Government of India under the DPDP Act.
8.Invitation links and guest information
Anyone who has your invitation link can open the invitation, so share it only with people you want to invite. The private review link we send before publishing is meant only for you and anyone helping you check the details. Invitation pages are marked so that search engines do not index them, and they are not listed in our sitemap.
As the host, you decide who receives your invitation and you can see the RSVPs and wishes your guests submit. If you add details of other people (for example family members or a child for a birthday or baby shower), please make sure they — or, for a child, their parent or guardian — are comfortable with it.
Guests who want their RSVP or wish removed can ask the host, or write to us at support@invitenama.app with the invitation link.
9.How long we keep it
- Invitations stay active for one year from the date they are created. After that the link stops working for guests.
- We keep your account, invitations and guest responses while your account is open, and delete or anonymise them when you ask us to delete your account — unless we must keep some records longer by law.
- Order records, including prices, coupons and payment details, are kept for as long as tax and accounting laws require.
- Analytics data is kept according to our Google Analytics retention settings, and server logs for a limited period for security.
10.How we protect it
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, secure sign-in cookies, optional two-step verification, and access controls that limit staff access to what they need to handle your order. No system is perfectly secure; if a personal data breach affects you, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
11.Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can ask us to:
- give you a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct, complete or update inaccurate or incomplete data;
- delete your data, or withdraw consent you have given;
- nominate another person to exercise these rights if you die or become unable to; and
- address a grievance about how we handle your data.
You can update your name and phone number in your dashboard profile. For anything else, email support@invitenama.app from the address on your account (or tell us the invitation link concerned). We may need to confirm your identity first, and we aim to respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
12.Children
InviteNama accounts and orders are meant for adults aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children. Invitations for a child’s birthday or a baby shower should be ordered by a parent or guardian, who decides what details and photos of the child to include.
13.Cookies and browser storage
We use a small number of cookies and browser storage items to keep you signed in, remember preferences and measure use of the website. Our Cookie Policy lists each one.
14.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our service changes. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, let account holders know by email or on the website.
15.Contact and grievances
For privacy questions, requests or grievances, write to our Grievance Officer at support@invitenama.app with “Privacy” in the subject line. You can also reach us through our contact page.
